Our Mission

The specific purpose of the Santa Ana Foundation is to promote charitable activities and social welfare by sponsoring programs to improve the quality of life in the City of Santa Ana, California, to encourage citizens’ involvement in civic life, and to promote conservation efforts in the local community, and by providing financial support to other local nonprofit organizations which support these efforts. 

Future Leaders Program

The Organization will train individuals to be community leaders and organizers in the City of Santa Ana, California by conducting educational seminars and training sessions and by preparing and disseminating instructional materials.

Classes and materials will teach participants about the structure of local government and how participants can best engage City officials and City departments on policy issues and operations, and will focus both on public policy topics and building skills such as community organizing and effective communication.  The Organization may also conduct an annual awards dinner and fundraiser for participants.  

These activities will further the Organization’s exempt purpose by encouraging involvement in civic life, and will constitute approximately 30 percent of the Organization’s activities.  The Organization anticipates that it will begin implementing these activities program in early 2024, and it will be run by its Board of Directors and perhaps retained outside consultants.

Santa Ana Beautiful

The Organization will provide support for charitable organizations and community events which promote community building and conservation efforts in Santa Ana.  

The Organization will develop an application process for interested organizations to demonstrate how the funds will be used to improve the quality of life in the City, to encourage involvement in civic life, and to support environmentally sustainable projects.  

This program will further the Organization’s exempt purpose by improving the quality of life in the City and promoting conservation efforts in the local community, and will constitute approximately 30 percent of the Organization’s activities.  

The Organization anticipates that it will begin implementing this program in early 2024, and it will be run by its Board of Directors and perhaps retained outside consultants.

Community Youth Project

The Organization will provide support to charitable organizations and other community groups which conduct after-school programs and other activities for youth in the City.  

These programs will be structured and implemented to encourage youth involvement in civic life and to deter involvement in illicit activities.  The Organization will develop an application process for interested organizations.  

This program will further the Organization’s exempt purpose by improving the quality of life in the City and promoting involvement in civic life and the community, and will constitute approximately 30 percent of the Organization’s activities.  The Organization anticipates that it will begin implementing this program in early 2024, and it will be run by its Board of Directors and perhaps retained outside consultants.
